This research examined aspects of the Regional Games (in particular the Far Eastern Championships and the African Games) organised in the pre-War period, and the resistance movement of the GANEFO Games (Games of the New Emerging Forces), hosted in the troubled Post-War context.

spear conducted extensive exploration of the potential for the London 2012 Paralympic Games to generate positive social outcomes for disabled people. This study involved a review of Olympic and Paralympic research, the policies and strategy-planning documents related to the 2012 Games and the history of the disability rights movement.

This research series was carried out in conjunction with Bournemouth University and the University of Essex. It examined the requirements for leveraging Olympic Tourism Flows, Sport and Physical Activity, and Community Engagement, Wellbeing and Pride from the 2012 Games.
