On Tuesday 9th July 2024, the Sidney De Haan Research Centre for Arts and Health held an Insights and Impact<\/strong> session, as part of the Faculty of Medicine, Health, and Social Care\u2019s Research Festival Week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Director, Professor Angela Pickard, welcomed everybody to the event and introduced the Centre and Research Team. This was followed by presentations from Centre Staff and Associates who shared some of the key insights and impact in to the research projects currently happening within the Centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presentations were split in to two main categories and were as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Physical and Mental Health in Babies, Children and Young People<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Little Big Dance \u2013 Professor Angela Pickard<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belonging in Dance with Adolescents \u2013 Professor Angela Pickard<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teaching Differently with Open Theatre \u2013 Dr Nina Worthington<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arts, Health & Wellbeing among Refugee Children in Uganda \u2013 Dr Jonathan Barnes<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arts in Public, Clinical and Performance Spaces<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arts in Prisons \u2013 Jacqueline Tallent<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond the Stigma \u2013 Dr Nina Worthington and Charlotte Grainger<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maternal Health \u2013 Professor Angela Pickard<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Music in Critical Care \u2013 Sonia Price<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event concluded with the showing of \u2018DISCONNECTED<\/strong>\u2019, an exhibition exploring the lived experience of depersonalisation-derealisation disorder (DPDR) through arts-based approaches using photography, film and spoken word \u2013 Charlotte Grainger<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was enjoyed over nibbles and drinks and the opportunity for the team to connect and network with attendees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
