The day will delve into the themes of Intersectionality, Intertextualities, Identities, and Inequalities. Hosted at Canterbury Christ Church University and online, the symposium aims to connect academics, dance educators working at secondary, FE and HE, researchers, artists, and industry stakeholders, to foster networking, collaboration and knowledge exchange through discourse and practice to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>raise awareness of social exclusions within dance education;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>initiate change by deconstructing power structures;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>share some inclusive and transformative pedagogical practices;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>foster greater understanding of equity, diversity, inclusion, and student-centered pedagogy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Event schedule (draft):<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>9:30am &#8211; 10:00am:<\/strong> Registration<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>10:00am &#8211; 10:30am:<\/strong> Welcome address by Professor Angela Pickard (CCCU) and Introduction to the Network and Critical Dance Pedagogy (Ag08 and online)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>10:30am &#8211; 11:40am:<\/strong> Session 1 -Option to engage in a workshop <a>or panel discussion:<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Workshop 1<\/strong> Exploring empowerment through inclusion in creative community spaces -Ash Mukherjee (Samped Arts).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This session will explore how choice and empowerment can be facilitated in creative community spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>OR<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Workshop 2<\/strong> Adapting movement to suit different bodies- Natasha Britton (Parable Dance).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This session will be both practical and discussion based, giving an introduction to movement&nbsp;translation techniques&nbsp;which can be applied in multiple dance settings.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>OR<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Panel Discussion<\/strong> \u2013 join members of the Critical Dance Network and engage in a themed discussion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>11:40am &#8211;
