A core focus of the Sidney De Haan Research Centre for Arts and Health is arts and the power they have for supporting health. Today is World Mental Health Day and our Director, Professor Angela Pickard, is getting ready to present at the 1st International Meeting of Arts Prescribing in Healthcare, in Thessaloniki, Greece. Centred around ‘Identity Crisis: Mental Health Impacts of Pregnancy in Dancer-Mothers’, Angela will discuss her research conducted with 103 dancers who are also mothers and their experiences of pregnancy. She will also share a co-designed intervention to support the dancer mothers’ mental health.
